I hope your 2018 was as successful as you hoped it would be back in January. At Scrivens, we are grateful for all of our clients and their loyalty from year-to-year.

This is a wonderful time to reflect on the past year and review your goals for 2018. One of our goals at Scrivens is to provide our customers with timely, accurate, and useful information to help them achieve their goals.

One way we do this is to provide you with tips to help prevent insurance claims from happening. Our longest-serving personal insurance broker, Karen Spencer, has compiled some great tips to help you and your family drive safely this winter.

Having your vehicle in tip-top shape is the best way to prevent unexpected expenses but do you keep your car's insurance policy in tip-top shape too? There are many situations where it may make sense to make changes to your policy coverages and limits.

I am also very excited to introduce a new service option at Scrivens! We now provide online access to your policy documents, claims information, and much more! Click here to get started.

Certificates of insurance are an extremely important aspect of insurance and is an official proof of insurance that you should request from contractors and vendors. Ole Jensen explains why certificates of insurance are important and how they are used across all industries.

Canada has come to a renegotiation trade agreement with the United States and Mexico which is estimated to come into effect during the second quarter of 2019. This agreement has impacts on many industries, including the auto, dairy, steel, and drug industries.

At Scrivens, we take the team approach with experts focused on their area of expertise. One of these experts, Stephan Smith, is an expert in financial advising and has been working in the industry for nearly 20 years.

Another of our advisors, Ken Browness, explains that during volatile markets financial advisors help you stay in control and on course. Advisors help you stay within your risk tolerance, help plan your portfolio for retirement, and provide protection for your beneficiaries.

The RRSP contribution deadline for 2018 is March 1, 2019 and we have answered all of your RSP questions. We also offer some insight to why your executor will appreciate you making arrangements for your final expenses.

From all of us at Scrivens, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year!
